Given, the perimeter of garden box = 27 1/2

the length = 9 feet

27 1/2 – 18 = 9 1/2

9 1/2 / 2  = 9 1/2 x 1/2

19/2 x 1/2 = 19/4 = 4 3/4

Area = 9 x 4 3/4 = 36 + 27 / 4

= 36 +6 3/4

Therefore, total area of garden is 42 3/4 .
