ক. কম্পিউটার নেটওয়ার্কের ধারণা ও প্রকারভেদ ব্যাখ্যা.

উত্তর : দুই বা ততোধিক কম্পিউটারকে যখন একে অপরের সাথে যুক্ত করা হয় যাতে তারা নিজেদের মধ্যে ইনফরমেশন আদান-প্রদান করতে পারে তখন তাকে কম্পিউটার নেটওয়ার্ক বলে ।

যখন একাধিক কম্পিউটার পরস্পরে কোনো wired বা wireless মাধ্যমে সংযুক্ত থাকে তখন সেটাকেই বলা হয় নেটওয়ার্ক। ন্যূনতম দুটি কম্পিউটার পরস্পরের সাথে যুক্ত থাকলে এই তাকে আমরা কম্পিউটার নেটওয়ার্ক বলতে পারি।

নেটওয়ার্কের মধ্যে বিভিন্ন ধরনের বৈদ্যুতিক যন্ত্র সংযুক্ত থাকতে পারে। কোন নেটওয়ার্ক তৈরি করার জন্য কম্পিউটার বা বিভিন্ন যন্ত্র কে ওয়্যার বা ওয়্যারলেস উভয় মাধ্যমে সংযুক্ত করা যেতে পারে । নেটওয়ার্ক মাধ্যমে কাছাকাছি বা দূরে থাকা কম্পিউটারগুলো সংযুক্ত করা যায়।

পার্সোনাল এরিয়া নেটওয়ার্ক (PAN) :  এক মিটারের মধ্যে অবস্থিত একাধিক কম্পিউটার, প্রিন্টার, স্ক্যানার, ডিজিটাল ক্যামেরা ইত্যাদির মধ্যে সংযোগ স্থাপন করার জন্যে যে নেটওয়ার্ক সিস্টেম ব্যবহার করা হয় তাকে পার্সোনাল এরিয়া নেটওয়ার্ক বলে। এ ধরণের নেটওয়ার্ক বিভিন্ন অফিসে বা শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠানে স্থাপন করে দ্রুত তথ্য আদানপ্রদান করা যায়, হার্ডওয়্যার রিসোর্স ব্যবহার করা যায়। MIT এর মিডিয়া ল্যাব এর থমাস জিস্যার ম্যান এবং তার সহযোগী গবেষণা করে সর্বপ্রথম PAN এর ধারণা দেন।

লোকাল এরিয়া নেটওয়ার্ক (LAN) :  একটি বিল্ডিঙয়ের কোন একটি ফ্লোরে অবস্থিত বিভিন্ন কম্পিউটার অথবা বিল্ডিঙয়ের বিভিন্ন ফ্লোরের মধ্যে অবস্থিত কম্পিউটার সমূহের মধ্যে যে নেটওয়ার্ক তৈরি হয় তাকে লোকাল এরিয়া নেটওয়ার্ক বলে। LAN এর ব্যাপ্তি নিকটবর্তী বিল্ডিং সমূহে অবস্থিত কম্পিউটার সমূহের মধ্যেও হতে পারে। এই নেটওয়ার্ক স্থাপন ও রক্ষণাবেক্ষণ পদ্ধতি সহজসাধ্য ও ব্যয়বহুল নয়।

নেটওয়ার্কের নিয়ন্ত্রণ কাঠামো এবং সার্ভিস প্রদানের ধরণের উপর ভিত্তি করে একে দু’ভাগে ভাগ করা যায়- ক্লায়েন্ট সার্ভার নেটওয়ার্ক ও পিয়ার টু পিয়ার নেটওয়ার্ক।

মেট্রোপলিটন এরিয়া নেটওয়ার্ক (MAN) :  কোন নির্দিষ্ট শহরের ভিন্ন ভিন্ন স্থানে অবস্থিত কম্পিউটার সমূহকে নেটওয়ার্কের আওতায় আনার জন্যে টেলিফোন লাইন বা High Speed Remote এর সাহায্যে MAN পদ্ধতিতে কম্পিউটার সমূহ নেটওয়ার্কভুক্ত করা হয়। যেমনঃ একটি শহরে কোন একটি অফিসের কয়েকটি শাখা অফিস আছে। উক্ত শাখাসমূহে স্থাপিত কম্পিউটার সমূহের নেটওয়ার্ক এর আওতাভুক্ত করার জন্য MAN পদ্ধতি ব্যবহার করা হয়। সাধারণত কোন শহর, শিল্প এলাকা অথবা কোন নির্দিষ্ট এলাকায় নেটওয়ার্কিং প্রক্রিয়া স্থাপন করার জন্য MAN পদ্ধতি ব্যবহার করা হয়ে থাকে।

ওয়াইড এরিয়া নেটওয়ার্ক (WAN) :  সবচেয়ে বড় এবং বিস্তৃত নেটওয়ার্ক হচ্ছে ওয়াইড এরিয়া নেটওয়ার্ক। এটি একই দেশের বিভিন্ন গুরুত্বপূর্ণ শহরের মধ্যে স্থাপিত কম্পিউটার নেটওয়ার্কিং ব্যবস্থা হতে পারে অথবা ভিন্ন ভিন্ন দেশের ভিন্ন ভিন্ন শহরের মধ্যে স্থাপিত কম্পিউটার নেটওয়ার্কিং ব্যবস্থা হতে পারে। সাধারণত বিভিন্ন শহরে অবস্থিত LAN বা MAN কে এই নেটওয়ার্কের আওতাভুক্ত করা হয়। WAN এর সবচেয়ে বড় উদাহরণ হচ্ছে ইন্টারনেট।

খ. ডেটা কমিউনিকেশন সিস্টেমের মাধ্যমসমূহের ধারণা ব্যাখ্যা।

উত্তর: আমরা ডেটা বলতে বুঝি যে কোনো ধরনের লেখা (মেসেজ, ই-মেইল, টুইট ইত্যাদি), ছবি, ভিডিও ফাইল, অডিও ফাইল ইত্যাদি। এসব ডেটা যদি পরস্পরের মধ্যে বিনিময় করা হয় অথবা এক জায়গা হতে অন্য জায়গায় পাঠানো হয় তবে সেটাকে বলা হয় ডেটা কমিউনিকেশন। অর্থাৎ বলা যায়, এক কম্পিউটার হতে অন্য কম্পিউটার বা এক ডিভাইস হতে অন্য ডিভাইসে তথ্যের আদান প্রদানকে বা তথ্য বিনময়কে ডেটা কমিউনিকেশন বলা হয়। ডেটা কমিউনিকেশনের কোনো কোনো পর্যায়ে সরাসরি কম্পিউটার জড়িত থাকে। আধুনিক কমিউনিকেশন সিস্টেমের প্রধান দুটি উপাদান বা কম্পোনেন্ট হচ্ছে- কম্পিউটার এবং ট্রান্সমিশন সিস্টেম। কম্পিউটারকে বলা হয় ডেটা প্রসেসিং ডিভাইস। কম্পিউটার কর্তৃক প্রসেসকৃত ডেটা একপ্রান্ত হতে অন্য প্রান্তে পৌছে যাওয়ার প্রক্রিয়াই হলো ট্রান্সমিশন সিস্টেম। ট্রান্সমিশন সিস্টেমের প্রধান উপাদানগুলো হলো: মডেম, ট্রান্সমিটার ইত্যাদি।

ডেটা কমিউনিকেশনের উপাদান : আধুনিক তথা ডিজিটাল কমিউনিকেশন সিস্টেমের উপাদানগুলো নিম্নরূপ:

১. উৎস (Source): যে যন্ত্র বা ডিভাইস থেকে ডেটা পাঠানো হয় তাকে উৎস বলে। যেমন: কম্পিউটার, টেলিফোন ইত্যাদি। ২. প্রেরক (Transmitter): প্রেরক যন্ত্র, উৎস থেকে ডেটা নিয়ে মাধ্যমের কাছে প্রেরণ করে। প্রেরক ডেটার নিরাপত্তা রক্ষার্থে এক এনকোড করে নিতে পারে। ৩. কমিউনিকেশন চ্যানেল বা মাধ্যম (Medium): যার মধ্য দিয়ে ডেটা এক স্থান হতে অন্য স্থানে যায় বা পরিবাহিত হয় তাকে মাধ্যম বা কমিউনিকেশন চ্যানেল বলে। মাধ্যম দুই ধরনের হতে পারে। তারযুক্ত মাধ্যম ও তারবিহীন মাধ্যম। যেমন-ক্যাবল, পাবলিক টেলিফোন লাইন, রেডিও ওয়েভ, মাইক্রোওয়েভ, অপটিক্যাল ফাইবার, স্যাটেলাইট ও মডেম ইত্যাদি। ৪. প্রাপক বা গ্রাহক (Receiver): কমিউনিকেশন মাধ্যম হতে যে যন্ত্র বা ডিভাইস ডেটা গ্রহণ করে নেয় এবং অত:পর তা গন্তব্যে পৌঁছে দেয় তাকে প্রাপক বা গ্রাহক বলে। যেমন: মডেম। ৫. গন্তব্য (Destinition):সর্বশেষ যে ডিভাইসে ডেটাসমূহকে পাঠানো হয় তাকে গন্তব্য বলে। গন্তব্য হিসেবে সার্ভার, পার্সোনাল কম্পিউটার ইত্যাদি ব্যবহার করা হয়।

উৎস এবং প্রেরক অংশকে একত্রে বলা হয় উৎস সিস্টেম অন্যদিকে প্রাপক এবং গন্তব্য অংশকে একত্রে বলা হয় গন্তব্য সিস্টেম। ডেটা প্রেরণ ও গ্রহণের সময় আমাদের কিছু নিয়মনীতি মেনে চলতে হয়। এই নিয়মনীতিগুলোকে প্রোটোকল বলে।

গ. কম্পিউটার নেটওয়ার্ক টপােলজি এবং প্রকারভেদ ব্যাখ্যা।

উত্তর : নেটওয়ার্ক টপোলজি নেটওয়ার্ক সিস্টেমের মধ্যে একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ন অংশ। নেটওয়ার্ক সিস্টেমের ফিজিক্যাল ডিভাইস বাঁ কম্পোনেন্ট কে নেটওয়ার্ক টপোলজি (Network Topology) বলা হয়। যেমন : ক্যাবল, পিসি, রাউটার এই ডিভাইস বাঁ কম্পোনেন্ট গুলো যে সিস্টেমে নেটওয়ার্কের মধ্যে একে অপরের সাথে যুক্ত থাকে, একেই টপোলজি সিস্টেম বলা হয়।

যেই নেটওয়ার্ক সিস্টেমে একটু মূল তার কে কেন্দ্র করে কয়েকটি ওয়ার্ক্সস্টেশন বাঁ কম্পিউটার যুক্ত থাকে, সেই নেটওয়ার্ক সিস্টেম কে বাস টপোলজি (Bus Topology System) বলে। বাস টপোলজিতে একটি প্রধান ক্যাবল থাকে, যাকে ব্যাকবোন (Backbone) হিসেবে চিন্তা করা হয়। যখন নেটওয়ার্ক সিগন্যাল ব্যাকবোনে চলাফেরা করবে, তখন প্রাপক হিসেবে কম্পিউটার সিগন্যাল গ্রহণ করবে আর বাকিরা এটিকে অগ্রাহ্য করবে।

এই টপোলজি সিস্টেম ছোট হওয়ার কারনে এটি ব্যবহারের ক্ষেত্রে খুব সহজ। এই সিস্টেমে কোন একটি কম্পিউটার নষ্ট হয়ে গেলেও সম্পূর্ন নেটওয়ার্ক সিস্টেম অকেজো হয়ে যায়না।

বাস টপোলজির কিছু উপকারিতা এর নেটওয়ার্ক সিস্টেম ছোট হওয়াতে এটি ব্যবহারে অনেকটাই ইজি। এই সিস্টেমে ক্যাবলের পরিমান অনেক কম হওয়ার খরচের পরিমানও কমে যায়। রিপিটার ব্যবহারের মাধ্যমে এর ব্যাকবোন (Backbone) কে সম্প্রসারণ করা খুব ইজি। এই নেটওয়ার্ক সিস্টেমে কোন একটি কম্পিউটার নষ্ট হলে গেলেও পুরো সিস্টেম অকেজো হয়ে যায়না।

বাস টপোলজির কিছু অপকারিতা এই সিস্টেমে কম্পিউটারের সংখ্যা বেশি হয়ে গেলে ট্রান্সমিশনে কিছুটা সমস্যা হয়। এই নেটওয়ার্ক সিস্টেমে ডাটা ট্রান্সফার স্প্রিড কিছুটা স্লো হয়ে থাকে। এই নেটওয়ার্ক সিস্টেমে সমস্যা নির্ণয় অনেকটা জটিল।

অফিস, আদালত এবং ছোট খাট আইটি বিজনেস গুলোতে এই টাইপের নেটওয়ার্ক টপোলজি সিস্টেম খুব বেশি ব্যবহার হয়ে থাকে।

ট্রি টপোলজির কিছু উপকারিতা যেকোন আইটি অফিসগুলোতে এই টপোলজি পজিটিভ উপযোগি হিসেবে ব্যবহার করা হয়। এই টপোলজিতে নতুন কোন সংযোগ বাদ দিলে ডেটা ট্রান্সফারে তেমন কোন সমস্যা হয়না।

কিছু অপকারিতা এই টপোলজি সিস্টেম অনেকটা জটিল। মেইন রুট বাঁ সার্ভারে কোন সমস্যা দেখা দিলে পুরো টপোলজি সিস্টেম অচল হয়ে যাবে। হাইব্রিড টপোলজি (Hybrid Topology System) কয়েকটি টপোলজি নিয়ে গঠিত টপোলজিকে হাইব্রিড টপোলজি বলা হয়। অর্থাৎ বাস, স্টার, রিং ইত্যাদি টপোলজি গুলো নিয়ে গঠিত নতুন এবং বিশাল টপোলজি সিস্টেম কে হাইব্রিড টপোলজি বলা হয়।

উদাহারণ হিসেবে পুরো ইন্টারনেট সিস্টেম কে হাইব্রিড টপোলজির সাথে তুলনা করা যায় – ইন্টারনেট হলো বিশাল একটি নেটওয়ার্ক সিস্টেম, যেখানে সব টাইপের টপোলজি গুলো বৃদ্ধমান আছে।

হাইব্রিড টপোজলির সুবিধা এবং অসুবিধা গুলো নির্বর করবে, হাইব্রিড টপোলজিতে ব্যবহৃত অন্যান্য টপোলজিগুলোর সুবিধা এবং অসুবিধা গুলোকে কেন্দ্র করে।

মেশ টপোলজি (Mesh Topology System) কোন নেটওয়ার্ক সিস্টেমের মধ্যে যে ডিভাইস বাঁ কম্পিউটার থাকে, এই ডিভাইস বাঁ কম্পিউটারগুলোর মধ্যে যখন অতিরিক্ত সংযোগ দেওয়া থাকে তখন তাকে মেশ টপোলজি সিস্টেম বলা হয়।

এই টপোলজি সিস্টেমে অতিরিক্ত বাঁ অপ্রয়োজনীয় লিঙ্ক দেওয়া থাকে বলে অতিরিক্ত ডেটা ট্রান্সফারের নিশ্চয়তা দেওয়া যায়। এছাড়া এই সিস্টেমে নেটওয়ার্কের নেগেটিভ সমস্যা খুব সহজে সমাধান করা যায়।

মেশ টপোলজির উপকারিতা খুব সহজে এই টপোলজি সিস্টেমে সমস্যার সৃষ্টি হয়না। ডেটা কমিউনিকেশনের ক্ষেত্রে অন্য টপোলজি থেকে এই টপোলজিতে নিশ্চয়তার হার বেশি হয়। অনেক সহজেই যেকোন সমস্যা সমাধান করা যায়। অন্য টপোলজি গুলোর তুলনায় এই টপোলজিতে ডেটা ট্রান্সফার স্প্রিড অনেক দ্রুত। অনেক বেশি শক্তিশালী নেটওয়ার্ক সিস্টেম।

মেশ টপোলজির অপকারিতা এই সিস্টেমে নেটওয়ার্ক ইন্সটলেশন এবং কনফিগারেশন অনেক বেশি জটিল। এই টপোলজিতে খরচের পরিমান সবচেয়ে বেশি।

নেটওয়ার্ক লেটেন্সি উৎস থেকে গন্তব্যে একটি প্যাকেট পাঠানোর জন্য প্রয়োজনীয় সময় বোঝায়। এই সময় নির্ভর করে পরিবর্তিত হয়:

শারীরিক দূরত্বের উপর  :

উপাদানটির সর্বোচ্চ ক্ষমতা পৌঁছে গেলে, প্যাকেটটি সময়মত স্থানান্তর করা যায় না কারণ এটিকে একটি সারিতে রাখা হয় (যেমন, একটি রাউটারে) বা বাদ দেওয়া হয় যদি সেগুলি ধরে রাখার জন্য কোনও সারির ব্যবস্থা না থাকে। এমনকি নতুন সেশন সেট আপ করা অসম্ভব হয়ে উঠতে পারে ।
