How to Bake a Cake Most people think baking involves a lot of work and so they do not want to try it. Baking a cake can be as easy as preparing stew or soup. You only need to follow a few instructions or steps and you have your cake ready to eat. Most people prefer homemade cakes and so it is important to know how to bake one. I will take you through the steps in baking a cake. The ingredients needed for the cake are a half cup of unsalted butter, one and a half cups of sugar, three eggs, two and a quarter cups of flour, one teaspoon of salt, three and a half teaspoons of baking powder, and whole milk.
The first step is to prepare your ingredients and heat the oven to 350. Clean up the oven before heating it. Prepare your baking pan by greasing the base and sides with a little butter or baking spray or a baking sheet, but it would be appropriate to use the baking sheet. By doing this, the cake mixture will not get stuck at the base of the baking pan making it difficult to take out when ready which will, in turn, ruin the cake.
Next, you put the butter and sugar in a mixing bowl and beat it up until it is light and fluffy. You can use a whisk or cake mixer for this method. By doing this, the sugar mixes evenly with the butter which will give the cake a fine texture. After the sugar and butter are creamed
together, you then add the eggs. Make sure to add the eggs one after the other to make them emulsify into the butter and then beat the mixture again until smooth and even.
After that, add half the flour, salt, and baking powder to the mixture. Add the sifted ingredients with the cake mixture and continue to beat or whisk the mixture until it is evenly smooth. Add the remaining flour mixture until combined and there are no more visible flour remains. You can now add the whole milk and mix it up slowly until even. Now the cake mixture is ready to go into the oven. Pour the cake mixture into the already greased baking pan and flatten the surface of the mixture. Put the mixture into the oven and allow to bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
Take the cake out after 25 to 30 minutes and dip a clean toothpick into the cake, when it comes out fresh then the cake is ready but when it comes out wet you should put it back in the oven for a few minutes to finish baking. Take the cake from the baking pan onto an open tray or cooling rack, wait to cool. Your cake is now ready to eat. Enjoy your delicious homemade cake.
